Purple Gatorade and Uger



The Brief: Purple Gatorade [The Tiny Art Director's Fish]
The Critique: Why did you draw Uger? [Her sister's fish] I hate Uger! Why is his eyes like that? It looks like he's mad.

What are you writing down? Grownups never lie, right Daddy?

Dad, that doesn't look like Purple Gatorade. Only mine looks like Purple Gatorade. You're going to scan it, and then when you're done with it, it's going to be scrappled up and thrown in the garbage. And then mine will be our final picture.

    My art critic is a 2.5 year old girl. Last night my tracing along with my attempts to show the critic how to trace ended up in pandemonium and the critic had to be temporarily committed to her room. I tried to tell her it was performance art-that tracing was so lame, that i was good.
    Suffice it to say, tracing has been banished.

    that really is a beautiful picture. It would look great on any wall. Did you ever consider making copies of your stuff and selling them on etsy.com? I am sure they would be a success.

    Ah, Mr Bill: you have hit the nail right on the head there. Reminds me of several Art Directors (allegedly grown up) I have worked with down the years. Tell her she should consider going client side.

    Oh, I really hope you DIDN'T scrapple this up, 'cause I love it so much!

    The addition of, "What are you writing down? Grownups never lie, right Daddy?" into her critiques instead of leaving it out since it's not technically a critique was so cute. Ah, only if grown-ups always told the truth though. :(

    Also, Purple Gatorade really is a great name for a fish.

    And why does she hate Oger? What did he ever do??
