T.A.D. Coming Soon - To a Bookstore Near You!

Tiny Art Director will be published by Chronicle Books in Spring 2010 (in time for father's day) !

T.A.D. says, "That's such good news, because it's all about ME!"

The bad news is, the self-published version of the book is no longer for sale. Sorry! You and I both will have to wait a whole year for the real thing, which will have additional material as well, and will be AWESOME!

Congratulations--you have both worked very hard for this and you deserve to be taken out for a spectacular dinner! "Anonymous Art Director" wonders why not very many dinosaurs, lizards, or snails wear eyeglasses. Three cheers for T.A.D.!

Congratulations on your success ... I hope the TAD doesn't become complacent with her quality control now that she's playing in the big league!

Book is brilliant, chuffed I got a "first" edition! :)

Thrilled for a well-deserved book deal. It won't put a kink in the production of our favorite blog, though.... will it?

Your blog is such a hoot! I have 3 tiny art directors, but am fortunate that they think everything I draw is great. Not to rub it in or anything but on the other hand, no one is publishing a book about us either :)

Thanks everyone - yes I will continue the blog - currently all my time is going towards getting the book ready to go - there will be a lot of new material there and I haven't figured out how much of that will make it onto the blog yet, but stay tuned!

Your work is great! Your daughter has a great eye though, and I often agree with her comments. She seems very perceptive, and her artwork shows talent. Some of her realistic interpretations remind me of comments an artist-friend made about reading Harold and the Purple Crayon as a kid--it freaked her out because she felt if he kept drawing, he was never going to get back to the real world.

Keep recording the comments. They are priceless. My 'TAD' is 14 and a perfect student but still has a mouth something like that at home:-) It works for us. As long as she's polite to others, don't let commenters criticize your interactions.

Although your artwork shows talent and your and your T.A.D. is often perceptive, the best part is simply the interplay between you two...her dead seriousness as a child and your dead earnestness at testing the bounds of her art directing. Excellent stuff!

This is fabulous! Having suffered similar things myself, actually still suffering even though they are all over 20 now, I really identify with this.
Great Job!

I can't help but think what a lovely treat it would be for you and the T.A.D. to look back on this in a few years' time, or when she's all grown up. I think it's just a wonderful, wonderful thing that you're doing. I can't wait to get my hands on the book come next spring!! Y.

A friend of mine sent me the link to your blog. Very creative. I am forwarding your blog to my other art friends, especially the ones who have children, and I must bookmark your site. Perhaps I will even post about it to my blogs. I am still chuckling from my "healing chair".
