Proto TAD: The Bottle Fairy

I've unearthed one of the inspirations for the Tiny Art Director project.  When she was
just a little over two years old the Proto-T.A.D. was waking us up every night for
weeks demanding “MORE BOTTLE!” At 3:00am we complied to avoid hours of screaming.

Finally we told her that the bottle fairy was coming to take her bottles away and give them to new babies who need them.

“I’m going to be very mad at her when she comes,” she told us.

The Bottle Fairy did come and left this calling card, a toy parasauralophus and a brand new sippy cup.  She loved the dinosaur and didn’t even mind the sippy cup which pretty much solved all of our sleep problems.  She hated the drawing.

And she didn’t even know that I drew it!

Oh, man. I loved reading this post. It's humorous to know she was so picky even then.

Great story. We had a ceremony where we took the bottles out to the trash. I think Tiny would have preferred the Bottle Fairy.

My grandmother apparently told me the dog got my bottle, and, given how much I liked the dog, I accepted this explanation and was immediately weaned.

This has to be one of the funniest things I've ever read. I don't have kids myself, but I teach 6 to 11 year olds how to draw comics. One of them is going to be an editor/art director from hell.
"Give him boots. NO, not those kind of boots. Yeah, but he needs laces. Not those kid of laces! etc ect"
I'm sure you more than get it :-)

Anyway, great, hilarious and endearing.

All the best.

I just stumbled here and got around to reading this. Adorable. My mother once tossed my bottle at a rest stop on a family vacation. She told me a burglar took it. I took this to mean hamburglar and have hated that evil McDonald's character ever since. I like your method better.
